The HARIBO Brand: Tradition and Innovation
HARIBO, founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel in Bonn, stands for "Hans Riegel Bonn" and is a true original in the world of sweets. For over 100 years, various HARIBO varieties have delighted children and adults in more than 120 countries. With a clear focus on quality and taste, combined with innovative ideas, HARIBO sweets have secured a permanent place in people's hearts. A fun fact: the famous Goldbears were originally marketed as "Dancing Bears" and only later received their current name and iconic shape.
The Variety of HARIBO Products
There is a colorful and diverse selection of HARIBO sweets that leaves nothing to be desired. The HARIBO range is so extensive because people worldwide have different taste preferences, and the foreign subsidiaries develop their own assortment. In Germany, classic fruit gum like Goldbears or sour sweets like colorful strings and green apple rings are particularly popular. In Scandinavia, people love intense licorice varieties, while in France, colorful jelly products are very popular. In our HARIBO online shop, you will find a colorful mix of HARIBO varieties from around the world!
The Special Production of HARIBO Sweets
The production of HARIBO sweets begins with a creative idea, which is first sketched by hand and then realized as a 3D model. A high-tech milling machine creates a plaster prototype that serves as a template for production. Hundreds of stamps press the figures into boxes filled with cornstarch, creating negative molds. The liquid gummy mixture is then poured into these molds, which hardens and receives a wax coating that provides the typical shine and prevents sticking.
For special shapes like the famous gummy snails, the mass is pressed through nozzles to achieve the desired form. This combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology makes HARIBO sweets so special and ensures that every bag of HARIBO is a little bag of happiness.
